The Xbox One was originally released on November 22, 2013. While we weren’t one of the first people to buy it, we finally have had ours for about 6 months and played many games (and lost countless productive hours – for research, we promise!).
Here is our top 5 must have games for the Xbox One! Just in case you don’t have one yet, you can get the Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Unity Bundle for $347, and Microsoft Xbox One w/Kinect (refurbished) for $399.
I have the non-Kinect version and to be honest, I don’t miss the Kinect. There hasn’t been any must have games which includes the Kinect. I constructed my list from hours played, fun factor, my roommate (she likes to play XOne, with easy to pick up games), and replayability.
Here is our top 5 games:
Dragon Age: Inquisition
If you’ve been playing the Dragon Age series, this is the best! The mission, story line, and humor between all of the different characters makes this one our top 5 Xbox One games! It took me over 90 hours to complete this game, but I finished almost all of the side quests as well.
Want to play it now, get Dragon Age Inquisition for $39!
Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition
DIII game is just fun, even my roommate who isn’t a gamer has picked up the extra controller and we’ve started a new game together. She found the game to be accessible with an easy learning curve.
My favorite part of Diablo III is the replayability factor. If you beat the game in normal mode, you can continue playing to increase the level of your player, start a new game with a different class, try hardcore mode (which gives you 1 life for the entire game – you die GAME OVER). Within normal and hardcore mode, there are 10 different levels of difficulty as well.
Ready to play? Buy Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition – $29.99!
Sunset Overdrive
This game is #awesomesauce. SO doesn’t take itself too seriously, has great voice acting, different weapon types, range of missions and a good multiplayer game.
Game on – get Sunset Overdrive for $39
Titanfall
There are many first person shooters to choose from, Titanfall made our list due to accessibility and also how your strategy and skills improves the more you play the game.
Also, with a new lowered price, Titanfall for $19.99 is a great deal!
Killer Instinct
I love fighting games and though I might not be always good at it, Killer Instinct is a must have if you love fighting games. The developers have done an awesome job of bringing back KI and making it modern. The added characters (each with their own strategy), Season 2 has made KI even more complex and fun.
Season 1 Killer Instinct for $18.99, Season 2 is not available on disk yet!
Honorable Mention:
Destiny, Halo MCC, Shadows of Mordor and Forza Horizon 2.
