Day 2 (Outdoor Usage and the Webcam) – 15″ Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360

In this article, we’ll go over outdoor usage and the webcam with the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360. I haven’t seen too many reviews of this device – I try to experience it as much so my judgement isn’t clouded. I did see a couple of complaints about the display and the webcam – so that’s what I wanted to focus on in this video.

I wanted to test the laptop in different outdoor settings, so I went to three different places: the park, our version of a strip mall, and the beach. Testing out both, outdoor usage and the webcam. I’ll be honest, I didn’t stay at each place and type a dissertation – but I did try browsing online and focusing on the visibility of the screen. To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised by a couple of things…

The webcam is better outside AND the noise cancellation is INSANE (for real) – crazy! I had to do a double take while editing the video. I did post clips of the normal ambient sound after each webcam clip – because my mind was blown! Never experienced that with a laptop webcam.

For outdoor usage of the laptop, the biggest enemy for me isn’t the brightness of the display, its the reflectiveness of the display. If you have to work for an extended period – I would suggest staying indoors or somewhere with some shade, because for the display to be bright, you have to put the display at 100%, which will definitely impact your battery life.

However, I think for most people and light casual use – using the laptop outside shouldn’t be a problem. If you’re going somewhere like Starbucks, where the inside is brightly lit – that shouldn’t be an issue either. Besides the glare, my other display issue is the wobbliness of the display which we covered in our First Impressions video.
