CES 2015 in Las Vegas gave us a lot of gadgets and gizmos to be happy about this year. Max and I chose 7 tech products for you that showcased this past week:
1) Serious PC gaming for the big screen: Razer Android TV Box
It’s a small console and it’ll probably be one of the best gaming consoles you’ll own this year. Stream any of your PC games and your games from your mobile devices to the big screen. Comes with an optional keyboard and mouse for traditional PC gamers and it can connect up to four wireless Bluetooth game controllers for you and your friends. Done playing for the night? Browse through hundreds of apps through your Android TV content and look for apps you want- watch the movie on Google Play or find your favorite cat video on Youtube. Oh, and the specs on this are pretty legit. It’ll come with the Android Lollipop, a powerful quad-core Snapdragon 805 CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 1080p, Wifi, Bluetooth, USB 3.0, HDMI, a gigabit Ethernet, and oh, it’s about the size of the palm of your hand. Oh, yeah…take my money!
Price: $149.00 with game controller.
Release Date: Mid-2015

2) Wireless headphones that has everything you’ve ever wanted: Bragi – The Dash
The Dash is still a version 1.0 so expect a lot more tweaks in its software throughout the year. Overall, it is still quite impressive. The Dash is wireless, Bluetooth capable, waterproof up to 30 feet, a microphone to pick up those phone calls while you’re swimming, an mp3 player that has an internal storage of 4GB for music, fitness/activity tracker, and a heart rate monitor. Additionally, they’re going to keep working on software integration with 3rd party apps.
Price: $299.00
Release Date: Mid-2015

3) Solar-powered fitness tracker with some bling: Misfit Swarovski – Shine
Swarovski teams up with Misfit, the fitness tracker maker that is paving the way for how we power up our wearable devices today. Misfit calls the violet-blue entrancing crystal an “energy harvesting crystal” technology that will automatically charge whenever exposed to light. Making it a Swarovski crystal just gives this fitness tracker extra bonus points. Wear it as a necklace or as a bracelet. Measures activity, sleep, and syncs with your phone. And it’s waterproof too (up to 50m). Love it.
Price: $169.00+
Release Date: Mid-2015

4) The router that can wirelessly charge your devices from across the room: Energous – Wattup
It’s simple and ergonomic. It’s wireless power for your devices: your smartphone, tablets, camera, gadgets and toys. Keep your house as wire-free as possible. Don’t have your guests keep fighting over for a plug-in cable or a wall socket at your next party. Just connect your devices to Wattup and you are good to go. And it can charge multiple devices simultaneously. Energous promises that this intelligent product will charge devices (requiring a power of 10 watts or less) up to 15 feet. This company is on to something and will soon be ready to license up with manufacturers, hopefully Apple and Google, in the near future. Let’s keep doing this.
Price: $300.00
Release Date: Late 2015

5) The flexible 4K Ultra HD smart TV that can bend and not break: LG 4K Flexible OLED TV.
Go from curved to flat in a minute. The 77” behemoth of nearly 4,000 pixels of sauce-omeness can show 2160p 4K UHDTV and 1080p videos, has WebOS 2.0, a superb processor, Harman/Kardon speakers, and an anti-reflective screen. It’s probably going to go for at least $10k later this year. And our team sure as hell can’t afford it here at AGS. So for now, check out how they roll this 18” OLED TV like a newspaper for now and just watch in awe:
Price: $$$? We’re guessing, a sh*t ton of bricks + $10k
Release date: Late 2015.

6) The sexiest Android tablet – Dell Venue 8 7000
Now Dell and sexy doesn’t normally go hand in hand, but if a tablet can be sexy – then the Dell Venue 8 7000 should be on the cover of Maxim. This device is thinner than the iPad, packs a 8.4″ OLED infinity display and incredibly vivid 2560 x 1600 resolution and has front facing speakers…hooray!
Price: $399.99
Release Date: January 12, 2015

7) The OnePlus One of 2015 – ASUS ZenFone 2
We previously wrote about the ASUS ZenFone, and for good reason. This device will be the first phone packing 4GB of RAM. The base model price of this device will be $199.99, cheaper than the OnePlus One. This device will be similar in size at 5.5″ with 1920 x 1080 (Full HD), 403ppi IPS display with Gorilla glass 3. We can’t wait to get our hands on this!
Price: $199.99+ for base model – pricing unknown for higher end models
